 An Ancient Pagan Cult dating to the 5th Century AD – The ''Matres'' were three Female Deities commonly found in Germany and surrounding Regions. Associated with the word ''Matron'' (or ''Motherly Figures''), The Matres were regularly venerated by Mothers to protect their Families and Children. Many Shrines and Icons have survived of The Matres – who would take on several Christian ''personages'' with the inception of that religious belief.
