Matagot

 Medieval France had it's share of Bestiaries and documents attesting to the strange and abnormal that lurks in the World. So were The Matagot included in those text. Seen around the 13th Century, The Matagot is an evil spirit. It has no true form of it's own so it often inhabits small animals (birds, rabbits) and most favored, a Black Cat. The Matagot feel that they can hide among humans this way and not be detected. It is said that they prefer the company of Witches and Warlocks (working as their familiars, or servants). They also know the location of any and all lost money. One can try and arrange a deal with a Matagot (buy giving them raw chicken). If suitably appeased, The Matagot might show you some lost money to recover (Here, Kitty, Kitty).
