Another myth from 12th Century France, The Margot (also known as "Margot La Fee), were human sized Fairies who were benevolent towards humans. Always seen as female in form, they had complete control over Nature (especially reptiles). Said to enchant human males for the purposes of breeding, they would reward their "Chosen" with great gifts as rewards. The Margot were not necessarily evil, but they abhorred religious ceremonies and artifacts. It is said that The Magpie Bird, was A Margot in disguise (used to find them a proper Mate). They lived in caves and preferred to eat Cows. It was thought that by sacrificing one at the beginning of slaughter time, would insure great luck with one's livestock in the future.
