A departure from The ''Kaijun'' Movies of the 1960s Japanese ''Mantango'' (1963) was a form of Mushroom Mutations, which when consumed by Humans caused them to evolve into Human-sized Monsters. The Mantango came from contaminated Mushrooms growing in the forests of Nagasaki (subjected to an Atomic Bomb blast in 1945). Not only came consumption turn a person into a giant Mushroom Monster, physical contact can also spread the spores. The goal of The Mantango is to get themselves exposed to rainwater (so they can release more spores). Taking over a small island, only one survivor escapes by boat from The Mantango threat. Found floating and rescued (taken to a Hospital on The Mainland), the film ends with the survivor having a fungal growth as well.....In Color, The Mantango Creatures are best remembered for their different and bright neon colors and they shamble to the left and right in their ''Mushroom Walk''. Plans for sequels never came to pass.
