The ‘’Maneki Neko’’ or ‘’Beckoning Cat’’ is a Japanese Cultural belief. The icon of a common Household Cat is often found in Business windows. Holding a coin in one paw – the other is upraised in a gesture of approach. The ''concept'' is that Maneki Neko is inviting money to ‘’come and stay’’ with the Business in question. Dating to the 1850s, a more ‘’modernized version’’ often features a mechanical ‘’arm’’ (battery operated), which ‘’waves’’ back and forth. The movement again is said to ‘’attract customers’’ to spend Their monies.
