Mandragora

 Sometimes known as The Mandrake,  The Mandragora were similar to The Homoculus. Doll-like in appearance, a Sorcerer would create these creatures from a man-made figure. By invoking a spell, a spirit would then animated the figure. They were used as both Spy and Watchman for a Warlock. Appearing in 16th Century writing (and traveling to Germany and England), it is though that the herbal Mandrake Root (which resembles the human form), may have spurred these legends.
