Mana Genita

Another Roman Deity, ‘’Mana Genita’’ was a very obscure Deity which had several attributes. Concerned with both ‘’Life and Death’’, Mana Genita was invoked by pregnant Women to ensure a ‘’Live Birth’’. After suitable sacrifice, which was said to be the killing and offering of a female Canine or young puppy – ‘’Mana Genita’’ would make sure that the baby’s ‘’Soul’’ would be properly guided to it’s ‘’new body’’ at birth. Genita was also invoked not long after a Child died (for any reason). She guided these Souls to The Afterlife.
