Mag Mell

The phrase ''Mag Mell'' is applied to an Ancient Irish Mythos regarding an ''enchanted Realm'', which could only be achieved thru ''bodily death''. Neither Heaven nor Hell in it's strictest sense. Mag Mell is often regarded as a kind of Greek ''Elysium Field'', in which those of great courage and conviction in Life, could achieve ''Paradise'' in Death. Some Scholars cite that Mag Mell may have been viewed as an Island of ''Heroic Souls'', perhaps even a Norse ideology of Valhalla (when some Viking Raiding Parties reached Ireland). Mag Mell first appeared in writing around the 8th Century AD.
