Maero

 From New Zealand, comes the legend of The Maero. These were humanoid creatures (standing about 6 feet tall). They were dirty (unwashed), and had long unkempt hair. They featured long, bony fingers with sharped talons. They used their talons as there primary weapons. After stabbing their prey, they would consume them. Maero's are immortal, and if one cuts them up  they will simply re-assemble themselves.
