In a Legend dating to the 18th Century AD in and around Newport, Shropshire, England – ''Madame Pigott'' is not only still remembered and told – but is also a rather well documented and ''photographed'' Ghost. According to Her mythology, She was married to rather cruel Husband. Somehow, Madame Pigott managed to get pregnant from The Squire. But Doctors found that both Mother and Child were at risk. When told of His Wife's dilemma, The Squire stated He would rather sacrifice His Wife than Child. The Madame heard this and sent Her deeper into depression. When ''the time'' came, sadly – both Mother and Child were lost. Almost immediately, Her and Her Child's ''Ghost'' were seen wandering the night – especially on land owned by Her former Husband. Her ''moans and lamentations'' were said to have driven The Squire quite insane. Even after His death, The Madame was seen wandering. Throughout the years, Madame Pigott was seen, throughout The Countryside. With the advent of photography, She would have Her ''picture taken'' MANY times, with some rather spectacular versions published.
