As we have seen, Africa has many tales of unknown legendary animals and even more stories of unusual religious practices and beliefs. From Nigeria – come a creepy little missive about one Madame Koi Koi. According to most, it is a ''modern'' Urban Legend. Much of it is relative to several Japanese ''City Yokai'' stories. According to most versions, Madame Koi Koi was a School Teacher of some beauty. Sought after by the Male Teachers, The Madame unfortunately was somewhat self-centered and vain. She was also by accounts a bit of a sadist. She enjoyed inflicting punishment on most of Her Students for the slightest infraction. In particular, The Madame liked to slap the face or back of the head of transgressors. Noted for wearing a Red Dress and red high heeled shoes, The Madame was a ''force''.

The legend take several divergent ends, but the most popular is The Madame was forced to stay late after school to to deal with a Student and Parents. Her car not working, She was forced to walk home. The Madame was attacked by a gang of thugs who brutally raped and killed Her. Her body was thrown into the jungle and laid there for a long period before discovery by Police. No culprits were ever brought to justice. In time, Students began to report disturbing incidents at School. If they were late or transgressed in some way, they felt an unseen force, ''strike their face or head''. Further, it they cut class (as children do), most would go to the bathroom to ''steal a cigarette''. Hiding in the stalls, they would hear the distinctive ''clicking'' of shoe heels (or ''koi koi'', the noise often heard). They hiding child could ''see'' a pair of bloody of high heels. ''Seeing'' Her full form meant instant death – with a body seldom found. Some say that Madame Koi Koi haunts any School now, Her Spirit angered by Students being responsible for Her being late at School (and thus leading to Her unfortunate demise). An Urban Legend no doubt......But Still.........
