In Sami (Finnish) Mythos – The ''Lieaibolmmai'' was seen as a ''God of The Hunt'' (Nature Being).In addition, ''He'' protected The Forest and made safe Man did not overkill His ''charges'' (Deer, Bear etc.)To ensure a good hunt, a Hunter needed to made sacrifice to Lieibolmmai (normal Animal Sacrifice/Blood). He lived in Alder Trees, and it considered unlucky to cut down such during a hunt (for shelter or fire). An early form of ''Blooding'' – or the sprinkling of blood from a first kill on the face of a Hunter, Sami Hunters would rub a mixture of Alder Bark and Water on their Face to ''show'' their Protection by Lieaibolmmai.
