Published in 1830 in Great Britain by Folklorist Sir Walter Scott – ‘’Letters on Demonology and Witchcraft’’ was a primary piece relating to the perceptions of Demons and Witches which, while largely fictionalized would become popular and excepted. With a rise in interest with The Occult in the 19th Century, Scott compiled many legends and quite frankly – unproven and unresearched, the views would help ‘’cement’’ such ‘’beliefs’’ as ‘’The Witches Black Hat’’ and of course, ‘’Broomstick Riding’’. The Work also ‘’created’’ the now accepted view of ‘’how’’ Demons are ‘’conjured’’, etc. A very popular work, ‘’Letters’’ would be published in many languages and can still be found in reprinted versions today.
