''Leprechaun'' (1993)

A fun loving Irish spirit myth was just ripe for turning into a cold-blooded (and sarcastic) Evil Being with the 1993 Horror Film Leprechaun . An American-Irish Pat steals a Leprechaun's Pot of Gold and escapes to America. What follows is a battle with the evil little nymph, which result in the Man dying in a fire (but not before he traps out Leprechaun in a wooden box with a 4-leaf clover). Years pass with a new family buying and repairing the house. Finding box, they accidentally release the Leprechaun who now takes his wrath out on them (and everybody else). Sick humor, lots of gore and blood and of course several sequels have made Leprechaun a favorite in Movie Monster circles.
