Much as ''Nyx'' was seen as The Goddess of Night by The Ancient Greeks – ''Lampetia'' was the personification of ''Light''. However, She was not the Sister of Night and were often opposites (even enemies of each other). Lampetia was given the task of guarding Zeus' sacred cattle. According to Legend, The Hero Odysseus let some of His Men capture and slaughter these animals for food. So angered, Lampetia (fearing retaliation from Zeus) – enlisted help from The God of The Underworld Hades. Refusing, Lampetia threatened to release ''Light'' into The Land of Darkness if He did not. Agreeing, Hades struck down the men.
