Klabauterman

 A Baltic Sea Myth, The Klabauterman is said by some to be a Sea Sprite (Spirit). They assist Sailors who have fallen in the Sea by protecting them until they are rescued. They are described as human in appearance. Other versions of The Klabauterman are shown that they are far more sinister. In the darker versions of their stories, they are evil demons who wreck ships (or cause shipping accidents). They are seen as hideous in appearance. It is also said that only the crew of a doomed ship will see the evil Klabauterman.
