Said to exist in Hindu Mythology, The Karkadann were known of in Medieval Bestiaries as well. They were said to be powerful beasts that where part-Leopard and Rhinoceros (down to the horn!). They were very fast and had a bellow that would frighten even the bravest of animals. They were the moral enemies of Elephants (for a time).
