The ''God of Fire'' In Ancient Japanese Mythology – ''Kagutsuchi'' had a rather ''violent'' Origins story. ''He'' killed His Mother during Birth (being made of fire?) and His Father, The God Izanagi, beheaded Him. In addition, Kagutsuchi was cut into (8) pieces and thrown away – thus becoming 8 Volcanoes. However, He was able to still live, and decided to seek revenge on His Father, by destroying The World by fire. It was The God of Water, Mizuhanme who steps in and using ''water'' dowsed all fire – killing Kagutsuchi.
