Seen by Scholars as an ''aspect'' of The God Jupiter (related to), ''Jupiter Tonans'' was a Deity Figure adopted as Patron to The Roman Emperor Caesar Augustus around 22 BC. Augustus, when fighting The Cantabrian War, narrowly escaped death – when a bolt of lightning struck near Him. Seen as a measure of His ''Divinity'' as well, Augustus created a Cult to ''Jupiter Tonana'' and erected a special Temple to Him. The original Temple was lost to time, but various Ancient Statuary (which may have been used in smaller Shrines), still exist.
