 From Ancient Japan is the Legend of The Jubokko (or Vampire Tree ). The tree looks very much as other trees do. They grow on battlefields (where many have died, - their blood soaking into the ground). The Jubokko waits until a victim is passing by. It has special, sharpened branches that are hollow. They stab at their victims and drain them dry. If a Jubokko is well fed it will look strong and beautiful. If not, it will wither.
