In ancient Turkic Mythology – The ‘’Itbarak’’ were said to be ‘’Dog-Headed Men’’, who prowled at night – feasting (eating) those wayward Travelers in The Desert. Some of the earliest narratives about these Beings can be dated to the 10th Century AD (in Literature). It is believed by many, that as time progressed, The Itbarak ‘’assumed’’ a more ‘’Wolf-like’’ appearance. Hence, The Itbarak would ‘’become’’ the more traditional guise of The ‘’Werewolf’’. However, unlike those Beings who are often cursed to ‘’change’’ as a result of a bite from another Beast, were often NEVER Human to begin with. As ‘’cursed Spirits’’ (for some grave offense), They would be ‘’reborn’’ as Itbarak. They could be killed – with silver, which seems to be a common ‘’thread’’ in most Werewolf origins.
