1958, B&W and a trip to Mars was all that was needed for this Classic piece of Horror Sci-Fi Schlock . The first US manned landing to The Red Planet , a lone survivor radios Earth that the entire crew (save him) is dead. A Rescue Craft is dispatched. According to the survivor, each member of the crew was taking (and killed), by a 6-foot Tall, Reptilian Humanoid (he calls It ). The Rescue Ship isn't buying his story, and assumes he went insane and killed his men (why not ) Soon, It gains entry into the Rescue Ship and proceeds to do to them what he did to our survivors crew! Determining (without any evidence) that It is the last survivor of an ancient Martian Race trying to protect his World , the remaining Astronauts find that It can't be stopped by grenades, bullets (as well as a host of quite non-futuristic firearms!). Launching into Space, they manage to trap It and send him (or her) into Space (where it suffocates). Many claim that It was the early idea for the much later ''Alien'' Franchise.
