''It Came from Outer Space'' (1953)

The 1953 Universal Studios ''It Came From Outer Space'', while Black and White was The Studios ''first'' Sci-Fi offering in 3D and Widescreen. Special cardboard glasses were given with admission to witness the ''Extraterrestrial'' camp which follow. A-typical amateur Astronomers in The Arizona Desert witness a Meteor crash. However, they soon learn that the Meteor was actually a crashed Alien Spacecraft. Going back to Town to report the amazing incident Townspeople and The Sheriff think their crazy. Soon, as curious Townspeople begin to filter to the crash site, they are quickly taken over by an unseen Alien intelligence. Duplicated, the Aliens (who are actually Giant Eyes in blob form (no kidding) use their Human duplicates to fix their craft. Eventually, our Astronomers get more people to believe them (based on the numerous disappearances), an a proper Posse move into attack. The Alien Leader, wishing no real harm to Humans releases His ''captives'' (now that His Ship is repaired), and takes off. The end tag line in the film is that ''We were not yet ready to meet, but maybe someday...'' The film capitalized on the ever present UFO sightings in every newspaper in The US, even that of the soon to be famous Roswell, New Mexico Crash. The story was taken from American Sci-Fi Master Writer Ray Bradbury's short story.
