Honored in Japan as the God of Rice (and therefore Sustainer of Life), Inari is depicted as an Old Man with a beard (Wisdom). On his back is a sack of Rice. Many Feudal Japanese Household had shrines dedicated to Inari. He was married to Uke-Mochi (MM). Upon her death - Inari was tasked with protecting all Japanese Agriculture.
