1957s ''I Was A Teenage Frankenstein'' was part of the Teenage Monster and Creature Films, wildly popular at that time. Although a ''B-Movie'' regulated to The Drive-In fare, the film featured semi-passable make-up effects that were often duplicated in cheap mail order ''kits'' designed to make ''You'' a Movie Monster. A ''worn told tale'', an English Scientist comes to The US to create His ''Monster'', assembling ''it'' from the body parts of Teenagers. However, His Monster's ''face'' was recovered from a horrific traffic accident (of course!) The resulting ''Creature'' (who ''remembers'' His ''living'' Girlfriend) escapes from His captivity and tries to contact Her. Freaking out, The Monster accidentally kills Her (the Doctor in question ''feeds'' the occasional victims to alligators He keeps in a Laboratory Pit). The Doctor determines to ''fix'' His Creations face by sending Him out to find a suitable ''replacement'' (hunting at the local 1950s ''Lover's Lane, of course). Getting a Candidate (from which The Monster gets His ''new face''), The Doctor plans to ''dis-assemble'' His Creation and ship the parts back to England (for later re-assembly). Hearing this, The Monster kills The Doctor (feeding him to His former ''pet'' alligators). The Police track down The Monster to The Lab and in a final scene, a ''scared'' Monster falls against a Lab electrical panel...electrocuting Himself dead. Silly, but a ''gem'' in the genre.
