A piece of Icelandic Mythology dating as far back as the 10th Century AD (forward) – The Hrokkall was said to be a Creature of massive size. Perhaps part of Sea Serpent Legend (of sorts), these Beasts ranged from 10 to 50-feet long. They were Eel-like but had scales which were ‘’strong as iron’’ (perhaps bone). Having four Fins, these too were very sharp on their edges. The Creatures laid in shallow water, preferably stagnate or polluted (sewage). This camouflaged, They would spring up at unsuspecting Victims, using either Their sharp Fins to slice open legs or thighs. So incapacitated, The Hrokkall would then drag then into the water to consume them.  After the 16th Century however, most of these Legends lessened and stopped outright. However, some Cryptid scholars point to the fact that the species may have been a ‘’surviving’’ piece of prehistory – millions of years old.
