Universal Studios 1945 Black & White ''House of Dracula'' was the last ''outing'' for that Studio's ''Classic Monster Brand'', so well know to Film History. It featured Dracula, The Wolf Man and of course – Frankenstein's Monster. However, with the exception of Lon Chaney Jr (Wolfman), none of the classic Actors who ''crafted'' the creatures starred (Karloff and Lugosi). Still, the often campy ''House'' was only moderately received by fans and critics. With World War II ending, people's mind's were elsewhere. The last ''gathering of Ghouls'' centers around The Wolfman still trying to cure or at least control His terrifying gift of turning into The Monster with the full moon. Seeking out a noted Doctor for help, when that fails – The Wolfman tries to jump to His death. He manages to only crash into a cavern which reveals the long lost remains of Frankenstein's Monster (ready to go). Later, we learn that Count Dracula is still alive. Using His blood to control The Doctor, His purpose is to (again) bring forth The Frankenstein Creature as a willing slave. In short, Dracula is killed by The Doctor (breaking free from His control temporarily) and The Monster and Wolfman perish in yet ANOTHER fire. The film was sadly NOT what was expected by fans, feeling rushed by Universal as a means of cashing in on their otherwise great line of Classic Horror Film Monsters.
