From Ancient Greece, Hermes was a God (born of Zeus and the Nymph Maia). Shown as a young Man, he wears a wide brimmed hat and winged sandals. He also is sometimes shown carrying a Heralds Shield. He was known as a God to protect travelers and good luck. Other versions link him as The Messenger of Zeus. He was also given great speed of travel. In some Roman adaptations, Hermes is seen as a God of Thieves (due to his nimble and quick abilities). Hermes also fought the Titan Typhon.
