''Heretic's Fork''

Composed of a metal bar with two forks or prongs, The ''Heretic's Fork'' was a device which had a leather strap attached (for stability). Positioned between the Victim's throat or chin and chest. Strapped into place, the victim would be hung upside down or positioned in such a way that IF the Victim lowered their head, the forks would be thrust into the Victims chest of throat. Sleep would be impossible. This was an effective method for extracting Confessions. Most Heretic Forks would have the inscription of "Abiuro" or "I Recant".  This a very popular ''tool'' of The Spanish Inquisition.
