A device from the 13th/14th Centuries, The Head Crusher was made of metal (iron), that featured a plate that sat just below the victim's jaw (as was fixed). The top of the head was fitted into a metal skull cap. The same cap was connected to a turning screw. The device looked all for a typical vise press (with cap attached). As the screw was turned (via handle), the gap between the cap and the plate would decrease in width. The pressure would crush the eyes, teeth and related facial bones. The Victim would naturally die (but not before experiencing his eyes popping out of his head or jaw crushed!).
