What Castle in Ireland isn't haunted Leap Castle is claimed to be one of the worst. Located in County Offaly, Ireland The Castle was constructed around 1250 AD. All that is left of the ruinous fortification now is it's central Keep and a few small sections of original Wall (perimeter). Oh yes, and The Ghosts. The O'Bannon Clan were the original Owners of Leap Castle. They were at odds with The O'Carroll Clan. The bad blood between the two Clans would come to a head around 1352 AD. Leap Castle had it's own Chapel for religious worship. A perceived slight to Father Mulrooney O'Carroll (who was leading a Mass there), by an attending O'Bannon would end a short peace between The Clans, with The O'Bannon Man brutally murdering The Priest at The Altar, in plan view of His Family. Another Civil War found hundreds among The Clan and it's various supporters, killed as a result.

The Castle would suffer almost destruction during The Irish Civil War of 1922 (although no one is quite sure just who started the fire). It was during this renovation period that workmen found a long shaft filled with wooden spikes. Hundreds of skeletons were found inside. It is unclear, but most cite that these were captured O'Carroll's and their supporters, tortured and murdered. Locals claim that the Spirits of many can be heard most nights moaning and screaming out their torment for the inhumanity said to have been committed there. Orbs and Shadow People are a regular occurrence. Leap has been investigated many times, with most Investigators agreeing that ''something'' is ''amiss'' at Leap Castle.
