The very haunted locale known as Boy Scout Lane is located in Stevens Point, Wisconsin (US). So named for a Regional Boy Scout Camping and activity area, a Story evolved in the 1950s-60s which claimed that a homicidal Scoutmaster killed his entire Troop there. Another variation of the Tale has a Scout accidentally dropping a Lantern, thus starting a forest fire, The resulting blaze trapped and killed the entire troop. As the Story unfolds since, people who travel into the dense wooded area may get lost. Perhaps they are errant Campers or perhaps Hikers. At some point while lost, helpful Boy Scout offer to lead One to safety . This is a ruse, whereas The Scouts are actually Ghosts. They lead the lost deeper and deeper until they die from starvation or some other horrifying end. Ghostly cries, the smell of a burning wood and Ghost Orbs or Lights are also claimed to be seen near The road or Lane. Locally, Police state that no such event ever happened. Long time Locals state that the matter was covered up, to spare the Town any embarrassment.
