A 1972 ‘’Indie’’ Film of some note, ‘’Grave of The Vampire’’ is unusual In that it featured mostly Female Stars and addressed Feminine issues of the day. Filmed entirely in Los Angeles, California – it is not as bad as the Title would make it. A Serial Killer/Rapist in Boston of 1940, is finally tracked down by Police. During a foot chase, The Killer tries to escape thru the underground subway and is electrocuted. Rather than risk a Mob attack on His grave, The Body is shipped ‘’out West’’ (California). Apparently, The Killer was so successful in His vocation because He was…….a Vampire. Flash forward to 1972, The Killer/Vampire arises from His Tomb, only to find a young couple ‘’being a young couple’’. The Vampire kills the boy and rapes the girl. Becoming pregnant later, She refuses attempts at abortion and gives birth. A ‘’normal’’ baby boy, however – Mom can’t get the baby to drink milk. It seems only blood makes Him ‘’stronger’’. Being a ‘’good Mom’’, She drains Herself with a needle to create a ‘’formula’’ for ‘’baby’’. Growing up more or less normal, The now young man (made aware of His ‘’true Father’’ and the fact that He was a Vampire, begins to hunt down His fiendish Dad. After a battle royale later, the true ‘’nature’’ of His child becomes evident. As stated, ‘’Grave of The Vampire’’ isn’t a bad indie, and it was a ‘’different take’’ on the standard ‘’Vampire Genre’’ of The Era.
