''Grave Encounters'' (2011)

A Canadian made, 2011 (semi) ‘’Found Footage’’ Genre Horror Flick – ‘’Grave Encounters’’ sought to capture the rising popularity in ‘’Reality’’ Ghost and Paranormal Investigations Shows. While the script is a tad rough (as well as some of the Acting), the overall story line wasn’t too bad. We find the Crew of a Television Paranormal Investigations Show allowing Themselves to be locked inside a VERY Haunted and VERY Cursed former Insane Asylum. As typical, it was run by a ‘’Psychotic Doctor’’, who was determined to establish that only thru frontal lobotomies, could the truly ‘’criminally insane’’ – be CURED. Found out after untold hundreds of patient deaths, the Doctor would be arrested and die in Prison. But is appears many of His ‘’former’’ Patients NEVER left the suffering They under went, and are quite happy to terrorize anyone foolish enough to enter the now abandoned Asylum. Apparently, the ‘’Doctor’’ is also back as a a wrathful Spirit (along with His Damned Staff). One by One, The Crew vanish – until only One ‘’survives’’ – with footage! ‘’Grave Encounters’’ spawned a quick sequel with enough ‘’buzz’’ to generate a possible 3^rd run as well. If you like ‘’Jump Scare’’ Films, ‘’Grave Encounters’’ is for you!
