''Granny Squannit''

The Wampanoag Native Americans are a very small Tribe, found in Massachusetts (US). They have a story concerning a Deity called ‘’Granny Squannit’’. Possibly a Demi-Goddess, ‘’Granny’’ was a powerful Healer, whom was ‘’consulted’’ by Tribal Shaman thru ‘’trance sessions’’. Often, particularly difficult ailments or conditions which did not respond to ‘’traditional’’ Tribal medicines, meant that only Granny Squannit could ‘’heal’’ it. If a Victim died, then it was thought Granny Squannit found Them ‘’unworthy’’.
