Appearing in HP Lovecraft's 1930s Short Story ''The Temple'' The Gloon was said to be an Ancient Grecian Fetish Statue, which when close too, brought about homoerotic imagery. The use of The Gloon as a control point by various of His Demons and Monsters was seen as using perversions as a means of breaking down Victims. The Gloon was similar to various experiences told of in traditional Demonic Possession stories and may have been included as such. The Gloon is seen as a half-Human Male torso with a mass of tentacles extending from a formless mass of mouths with sharp teeth.
