Okay, suspend disbelief for 77-minutes, the Black and White 1958 Film ''Giant From The Unknown'' isn't THAT bad. It was a Drive-In Movie staple well into the 1960s, and was a mainstay on many a late night Television ''Creature Feature''. The acting is only semi-terrible but it's worth it. The premise is a small Northern California Town (way North), is a vacation spot for an Old Historian trying to prove a legend. It seems that 400 years prior, a group of ''renegade'' Spanish Conquistadores were in the area searching for Native American gold. Their Leader was a thoroughly evil Man named Vargas. Vargas was also said to be ''a giant of a Man, at 7-feet tall''. The Soldiers all but vanished and no race of them were found to History. Enter our History Professor and His attractive Daughter. ''She'' falls for a local young man who happens to be a Geologist. After showing the Professor a lizard found preserved inside a rock for hundreds of years (premise coming), He agrees to help the Professor try and locate a possible site where the Spanish Soldiers may have went thru. The group finds a mass grave, filled with skeletons and rusted Spanish armor. It seems that the Professor has found what He's looking for. However, none of the remains are ''7-feet'' tall. A freak thunderstorm (wait for it) happens. Lighting strikes a grouping of nearby rocks (similar to what the lizard was encased in) with the strike, a perfectly preserved (an mute), 400 year old Vargas rises from the Earth (looking VERY upset). Vargas eventually kidnaps the Daughter and soon a Posse is formed. Chasing Vargas to an overpass bridge (over a raging waterfall), He gets into a fight with the young Geologist. Vargas is knocked off balance and falls to the watery deep below (we find out that the water is apparently ''bottomless'' so no remains will be found).
