A horrible Torture and Punishment method seen in limited used in 15th Century Germany, The Gespickter was used to extract both information and to punish offenders (normally of Heresy). In implementation, The Victim was stripped to the waist and tied (standing) to a makeshift Cross (being allowed to stand). A large rolling pin (wooden) was affixed to a yoke and handle (roughly 5-feet long). The “pin” was studded with sharpened studs. In application, the Pin was slowing rolled over the back, buttocks and lower thighs of The Victim (which caused terrible open injuries). In cases where a “Confession” was still NOT forthcoming, The Victim could be turned over. The Pin was then applied to his (or Her) front.
