Another North American Lumberjack (Woodsman) Tale, the Galwackus appeared in the American Northwest around the 19th Century (with it's myth going well into the 20th Century as well). A Hybrid combination creature, they were said to be part Panther, Lion and Bear. Large (around 300 pounds), The Galwackus preyed on local livestock (of course, with the disappearance of the wayward Hunter or Woodsman as well!) It's legend even extended to parts of Connecticut and Massachusetts (in the deep Woods).
