A method of Torture used by Pirates as a way to illicit information, the practice of Fusing was very effective - and painful. In essence, Pirates would use a short fuse used for igniting cannon. The Victim would be tied up, with hands facing forward. The fuse would then placed between the Victims fingers and lit. The slow burning fuse would burn the Victims hands and fingers. This painful method of extracting information was effective in getting a victim to tell a Pirate where the ships gold and silver was often hidden. Sometimes, the fuse was also placed between the toes of a Victims feet. Both ways were very effective Torture methods.
