In Ancient Irish Mythology, The Fomorians were said to by Giants. They dwelt both under The Earth and in the deepest of Seas. The Fomorians were most often Malevolent towards Man. In time, some Fomorians turned to hatred and evil intentions regarding Humans. Bad events of Nature (Earthquakes, Flood and Famine) were often associated with The Fomorians. It is unclear if The ''Good'' Fomorians curbed the activities of The ''Bad'' Fomorians. They were given a dual description. One has them Human in appearance with the head of a Goat. This is thought ot be a link to the Ancient Pagan (and later Christian) identification of a Devil or Demon. Yet another description of them is that they are Human in looks, 20-feet in height and very muscular. Their faces were said to be ''horrible to gaze upon''. They carried large clubs and axes. Still older Ancient Irish takes of The Fomorians tell of a final battle between Man and The Bad Fomorians, occurring some 2,500 years in the past. Almost losing to them, it was a brave Human Warrior who slew The Fomorian Leader with a simple sling. This caused His Forces to retreat into The Earth, never to bother Man again. The ''take'' is quite similar to another ''Biblical'' Hero known as David...who slew The Philistine Giant Goliath.
