''Flexible'' Glass?

Yes, you read that correctly – ‘’Flexible Glass’’. While today such material (or a form of such) can be found in Fiber optical Cable, an enduring Myth has existed since Ancient Rome. As The Legend goes, an ‘’unknown’’ Inventor brought a ‘’wonderous material’’ to Emperor Augustus in 30 AD. The material was ‘’clear as glass, strong and most of all – flexible’’. Fashioned into a ‘’drinking cup’’, the material was dropped to the ground and did not crack or break (but it did receive a dent). The Inventor simply ‘’hammered out’’ the imperfection and the cup was ''good as new''. This material was also mentioned by several Roman Historians as well, as well as what happened next. Rather than being rewarded with fame and fortune, Augustrus had The Inventor……killed! ‘’Fearing’’ such a material could be made into armor and weapons (making an Enemy invincible) – The Emperor could not take the chance at The Inventor being captured by Foes. No formula was ever found (or if it was  - it  was purposely destroyed). The ‘’Stuff of Legend’’ or....................
