From an Old Norse legend, Fenrir was a giant, wolf-like creature. Written about in 13th Century Sagas (heroic stories), Fenrir's were a focal point for Viking heroes to kill (to prove their heroic virtues). A young warrior would have to prove his worth by going out into the woods and engaging the giant beast. Fast and cunning, Fenrir was hard to kill. They could be killed by normal weapons. Although not armored, Fenrir had very thick (almost rock-like skin). Their saliva was poisonous and should not be allowed to touch the skin (least one burn).
