A strange Movie (even for 1970) ''Equinox'' was a ''Horror-Fantasy'' blend which, while obviously a classic ''B-Movie'', garnered a Cult Following, especially at Drive-In Movies. The film would serve as inspiration for the Classic ''The Evil Dead'' (1981). The film is noted for it's combination of live-action and ''stop-action'' animation techniques. The Plot centers around a Groups of College Students (as is the case in such movies), searching in the woods for a missing Professor (who also was an expert in Demonology). The Group is ''befriended'' by a local Forest Ranger. However, this particular ''Public Servant'' is actually The Demon Asmodeus. Apparently, The Professor was out in His Cabin and conjuring forth Demons. ''One'' got out of control, killing Him and destroying His Home! In reality, Asmodeus sent The Monster to steal The Book (which is the source of immense power). Before The Monster could retrieve it, a strange Old Hermit steals it.

Our Group find The Old Man, who gives them The Book. Asmodeus is on to them, and sends out a contingent of Monsters to get the goods. After several deaths (all save one in fact), Asmodeus ''reveals'' His ''true'' form a Giant Devil Bat. The survivor is able to lure The Demon into a Cemetery (Holy Ground), and kill The Demon. Just when all is well, another Demon appears and gives the survivor a warning. ''He'' will die in 1 year. The survivor (now rescued), is put in an Asylum (no one believes his fantastic story). Exactly 1 year passes when one of the ''dead'' Group Members (His Girlfriend actually) appears as a Visitor to The Asylum. This is really Asmodeus (who didn't die after all). With a demonic and twisted face, ''He'' enters the room of The Survivor..........presto, prophetic warning complete. Very poor acting, but a clever plot twist (and The Monsters are okay too) makes ''Equinox'' worth a quick view at only 80-minutes running time...AND it's in Color!
