Another Celtic mythological figure, Epona was seen as a Fertility/Earth Mother Deity. Shown most often as a female, she rides a horse. The totality of her symbolism portrayed Vigor, Strength, Earth and Power. Often made into icons, many Prehistoric horse carvings and mountain carvings of The Horse itself, was seen as honor to Epona. She was heavily used in Druid culture and was considered Pagan by early Christians (who shunned her Cult).
