The concept of ''Elysium'' was rooted in early Ancient Greek religious beliefs. The mythical location was a first example of ''Paradise'' or Heaven by an organized Culture, which assigned a ''reward'' for living a ''Good Life'' or having ''suffered with dignity'' a ''harsh one''. Many Greek Philosophers cited Elysium as being the ''perfect place'', one of rest and peace – available to all who died (unless they warranted a trip to Hades). The concept would be adopted by Ancient Rome (Kingdom Era), early. However, Elysium would take on a very different ''feel''. Upon death, a ''righteous Soul'' had the ability '(granted to them by The Gods), to ''construct Elysium to resemble anything they wished''. This concept would also be adopted by early Judaic and Christian beliefs as well. A passing phrase (often uttered to the dying) was ''May The Peace of Elysium, Be Upon You'' (Pre-Christian Rome).
