Elder Things

HP Lovecraft's name for 8-foot tall, Extraterrestrial Beings, which attempted to invade and colonize The Earth millions of years ago. Resembling ''Starfish'', The Elder Things can ''float'' (fly). They have long tubes which extend from their bodies for food consumption, The Elder Things can hibernate for many thousands of years. First written of in ''At The Mountain of Madness'' (1931), they planned to eradicate Humans by consuming them and taking over The Planet. They brought with them to Earth – from an unnamed Planet and Universe, several ''Slave Races'' of Monsters – mostly Slug-like Beings which were indestructible. They would have succeeded with their plans of domination had their Slug Slave not rebelled and killed many of them. ''Those'' surviving Elder Things retreated to the Middle of Our Planet and now reside in Cities....waiting for another change!
