In Norse Mythology, The Einherjar were the spirits of warriors killed heroically in battle. Taken to Valhalla, they feast every night from a self-generating beast called Saehrimnir. Their tankards of Mead (drink), never run empty. The following morning, The Einherjar go forth and participate in a great continuing battle (for the amusement of The God Odin). The battles seem to include the killing of Giants. They are not allowed to converse with Odin. After their continuing wars (at night) - they go back to their Mead Hall for diner and drinks (for all eternity!)
