Originating from both Jewish and Christian religious beliefs, The Dybbuk were non-corporeal Spirit Demons who are without form. They roam the World in search of new "homes" - namely human beings! They completely supreme any individual identity of their Host, often replacing it with their own somewhat mischievous and often quite dangerous personality. The Dybbuk are also known to inhabit animals (who will adopt different personalities as well). The myth of the Dybbuk was extremely popular with Jewish tradition in the 13th Century. Removing a Dybbuk took great skill. So as not to "lose" the personality of the victim. The Ritual requires a trained Rabbi to accomplish. Often, prior to beginning the Ritual, all entrances to the home of the victim needed to be sealed. The includes all doors, windows etc. Only a small hole can be made (in a wall, leading out). Once expelled, The Dybbuk is forced to flee through the only entrance possible. Once out, a cork or seal is placed into the hole. The Demon will not return. Another more dangerous method used wad a "Dybbuk Box". These specially made containers were designed to keep the Demon inside (once removed). Unfortunately, these storage containers cannot be destroyed, and must be kept by a Rabbi. Opening The Dybbuk Box will be unfortunate for the person doing so. The Dybbuk will possess this person (and be two times as hard to remove).
