Duergar

The Duergar was part of The Fairy Family. They were first seen in British myth around the 12th Century. They are known for leading lost travelers astray - and to their deaths by falling from cliffs, rocks etc. The Duergar are humans in appearance. Standing only 1 foot tall. They are noted for wearing lambskin coats, hats and shoes. They carry torches in the night, so as to confuse lost travelers as to their true location. One should not follow torches in the dark night! Fiercely territorial, the best defense against The Duergar is to simply NOT travel at night (when they are at their strongest).
